I've read several articles about the link between epilepsy and migraine before... and it seems the research is continuing. This new study was featured on my local news tonight. I am going to check more fully to see if any of our "close" family has epilepsy (I'm not sure what "close" means - would that be cousins, 2nd cousins... or how far do you go?). I don't believe so... but it will be an interesting qwest for further info. I took Tomapax for a few months years ago, but had some unpleasant side effects and stopped. Maybe I will look into it again as these articles connecting epilepsy and migraine keep coming.
Epilepsy and migraine 'could have shared genetic link'
Scientists from Columbia University, New York, analysed 500 families containing two or more close relatives with epilepsy.
Their findings could mean that genes exist that cause both epilepsy and migraine.
