Have you all heard of this new OTC called HeadOn? It's a product that we're supposed to be able to apply to the skin that will help our seratonin levels back to normal during a migraine attack. Very interesting. I have no idea whether something can actually be absorbed well enough through the skin to make a change like that... but it's very intriguing isn't it? Here's the info from their website at http://www.headon.com. The product is available at retail stores (listed on their site). I found a couple versions at my local Osco Drug (about $7.95 for a tube that should provide 100 applications), but they didn't have the migraine version, so I haven't actually tried it. Any of you tried it yet?

Many scientists now believe that seratonin is the main culprit in the chemical reactions that occur during migraines. Seratonin is a chemical in the brain that can constrict blood vessels and stimulate pain receptors. Levels of seratonin are unusually high just before a migraine and unusually low during the migraine attack.
The active ingredient in HeadOn Migraine not only targets the pain receptors but also blocks smooth muscle contraction induced by seratonin.
No more migraines,
Kelli :)
Hi Gretchen... I just went to Amazon and saw the same thing you see. I was hoping that must have been the price for several tubes, but it looks like they're listing it for $25+ per tube. Ridiculous. I'll try to do a little more research and see if I can find it anywhere else... or even here locally and post back here what I find. Best, Kelli :)

I have found Head On to work extremely well if I use it at the first twinge of a migraine. If I miss the window, then it doesn't work as well and I have to take prescription meds with an ice pack on my head. Now the problem is I can't find the product in Oklahoma City. Does anyone know how to get it without paying $25 + per tube on Amazon?

While this product does not take away all my migraines, it is helpful and I don't know how I would cope without it.
